Description
“Successful mentors must learn and employ a sophisticated set of skills for promoting new teacher learning, and thus student learning.” –Standards for Beginning Teacher Induction
Mentor Roundtables provide rich opportunities to network with other mentors, expand and practice mentoring skills, and learn in a robust environment that is responsive to current problems of practice. Each month we will collaborate and explore relevant topics that follow the progression of the school year. Roundtable topics will include; learning focused relationships, classroom management, parent communication, classroom observations, the 8 state criterion, coaching/collaborating/consulting, and will continually utilize paraphrasing and questioning strategies. Join this network of mentors in our region and continue to take time to foster your skills as a new teacher mentor. Your mentorship is invaluable and these roundtables are designed to provide you the support you need!
Event Notes
Participants not in our co-op will need to pay for clock hours. Clock hours are $2 per hour. A minimum of two roundtables must be attended in order to receive clock hours.
