Description

This resource study on blended learning will focus on a book (see below) and other resources (podcasts, articles, and blogs) that participants explore asynchronously and discuss in live Zoom sessions.  This course is about more than just how to do blended learning–we will focus on underlying connections with Universal Design for Learning (UDL), Social Emotional Learning (SEL) and how blended learning can help teachers reach each student.

Participants will read and explore the resources asynchronously and attend periodic live sessions to interact with each other around the resources, share ideas, and formulate personalized next steps.

This course is arranged in Modules.  Each Module is worth three clock hours. Participants can join the course already in progress until May 1, 2024.

Modules 0 and 1 are asynchronous only.  These modules are required for all course participants, regardless of when you join the course.  After you complete Module 1, the rest of the course will unlock.

Modules 2 through 6 will be released one per month, from January to May.  For each module, participants will engage in approximately 90 minutes of asynchronous work in Canvas before attending a 90-minute Zoom live session.  Pre-work must be completed before the live session.  Both components are required in order to earn 3 Equity Clock Hours per module.  After the date of the live session, the modules will remain for viewing only and clock hours cannot be earned later for modules you miss.

Participants are required to provide their own copy of “The Shift to Student-Led: Reimagining Classroom Workflows with UDL and Blended Learning” by Catlin R. Tucker and Katie Novak

We will also rely on other free resources, which may include podcasts, articles, and blogs.  These resources will be provided in the Canvas Course.
