Designed for teachers and counselors who are considering National Board or just beginning the National Board certification journey. This 6-hour Foundation course helps participants make sense of the 5 core propositions the professional standards by certificate area and the links between this certification and current initiatives. This course will also fulfill one of the OSPI state loan requirements.

Candidates are responsible for paying applicable National Board fees directly to the National Board.

Materials Candidates will need to bring to class:

1. National Boards Certificate Standards- in their Certificate area (all classes)

2. National Boards General Portfolio instructions for Foundations, C2, C3 and C4 Classes

3.  Certificate Specific Instructions for C1, C2, C3 and C4

4.  Scoring Guide - Understanding Your Scores (all classes)

Cohort Participant Expectations: Attend all cohort classes or plan with instructor to make-up classes missed.  Monthly feedback to fellow candidates on their entries- regardless of personal submission status.
