General education teachers, dual language teachers, multilingual specialists, instructional coaches and administrators will collaborate around topics such as enhancing instruction with scaffolds and eliminating barriers that can prevent access to grade-level content, increasing the use of the WIDA Framework, and examining literacy instruction through the lens of the science of reading for Multilingual learners and dual language program models. Each of our monthly meetings will include opportunities to discuss areas that make our collective work challenging at times, but we will also promote the replication of work that results in academic success and linguistic growth. Strategies from the OCDE Project GLAD® will be highlighted as we engage in planning with the WIDA Framework and increase approaches that can be taken to better prepare students for taking the WIDA ACCESS assessment.
