The focus is fostering student thinking through practices that shift classroom structures.
Participants should have a copy of “Mathematics Tasks for the Thinking Classroom, K-5" by Peter Liljedahl and Maegen Giroux to engage in discussions. This book was designed to extend support for elementary educators who have read the original book “Building Thinking Classrooms in Mathematics Grades K-12" by Peter Liljedahl and/or have begun to implement the Building Thinking Classroom framework.
