Description
As the literacy landscape continues to shift, it’s critical for educators to understand the science of reading and the pathway many educators are in its adoption. In this discussion forum, we will review the fundamentals of the science of reading, how frameworks guide literacy initiatives and target significantly improved student outcomes. We’ll also explore the phases of Science of Reading adoption with common resources explored and barriers experienced as educators target systemic impact for all students. Additionally, we will explore the timeline of the Washington State ELA Standards adoption process and highlights of the future revisions, and collect input on support needed. Networks will also begin to develop to share information on practice, materials, assessments, and system needs.
