This online comprehensive course explores alternative access methods for augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices, providing participants with the knowledge and tools to assess, implement, and support effective access solutions for individuals with complex communication needs.
Participants will learn about a variety of access methods, including switch scanning, eye gaze, head tracking, and settings to improve direct select, along with strategies to customize these methods for different users. The course covers the assessment process, device setup, and best practices for training users and caregivers to optimize communication outcomes.
