Description
We have four sessions in this series.
Session one will introduce the concept of cultural humility, as the personal orientation necessary for building relationships with clients and enacting social justice in practice. Participants will engage in critical self-reflection around their intersecting identities.
Session two will provide an overview of culturally responsive practices using the diversity, equity and inclusion framework. Participants will be provided with practical strategies to apply cultural responsiveness to assessment and intervention.
Session three will provide an overview of therapeutic relationships as a significant contributor to treatment change. Participants will be provided with practical strategies to build and maintain therapeutic relationships with their clients and families.
Session four will provide an overview of the concepts of race, racism, and anti-racism, emphasizing race as a social construction and social determinant of health. Participants will be provided with practical strategies to enact their anti-racism journey.
