Description
This training is part 1 of a 3-part series that will provide participants with a holistic understanding of what diversity, equity and inclusion in education look like in "the real world." It is highly recommended that you do the Events in order: 1, 2, then 3. However they can be done individually or out of order.
In Module 1 participants will gain a deeper understanding of the history and current societal outcomes of our communities.
Participants will gain a deep understanding of the history of race, racism, and systemic racism in America’s history.
We will then apply that to our local context (Washington State) and connect that history with our current society and the outcomes we continue to see.
Participants will have a greater understanding of the lived experiences and history of marginalized communities and individuals in America and Washington State.
Registration will be through pdEnroller, while the work will be done through the CANVAS learning platform.
THIS EVENT RUNS FROM SEPTEMBER 16, 2024 - FEBRUARY 28, 2025.
WORK/ATTENDANCE VALIDATIONS WILL BE DONE ONCE A MONTH DURING THIS TIME PERIOD.
