Description
Teachers sometimes need to create and edit images to get their ideas across and engage students in visual literacy activities. How do you sharpen these skills when you’re not a graphic artist? And how do you get students to produce visual responses without complaining that they’re “not an artist”? There are some great free tools online (and even some you can use on your phone or iPad) that can help you to make great-looking flyers, emails, signs, and assignments. We’ll discuss basic principles of visual design as well as working with the tools themselves. You’ll leave with ideas for how to introduce visual literacy to students, improve the quality of your teaching graphics, and improve the quality of students’ visual responses.
