Description
This asynchronous course is part one of a two-part social-emotional learning course series. This course meets the criteria for required training in the area of social-emotional learning under Washington state law (RCW 28A.150.415). This course also meets the criteria for Equity clock hour requirements for certificate renewal for certificated staff as well as Educational Leadership clock hours.
In this course, Getting Started with Social-Emotional Learning (SEL), participants will get an introduction to the concept and vocabulary associated with social-emotional learning as well as begin to learn how SEL fits into education and works to support the whole child as well as the teacher to support success in the school setting and life following school. Working to build understanding and awareness in this area. Building foundational knowledge in order to support classroom practices and implementation moving forward.
