Description
Welcome to ‘Moving from UDL Theory to UDL Practice’! This is a self-directed Canvas course. This level 2 course will help you move from Universal Design for Learning (UDL) theory to the implementation of UDL in your learning environment and answer questions like, “Where do I get started?” and “What does UDL look like?” In this course, you will unpack UDL lesson design and provide you with tools, scaffolds, and exemplars to start building universally designed lesson plans and units that honor student variability and break down barriers to learning. You will explore how to expand student engagement by being clear about our goals and standards, design accessible learning materials and methods, and finally, assess learner progress in authentic and meaningful ways.
In this series, participants will access materials in an 8 module asynchronous Canvas course with the option to engage in live training and/or follow-up discussions with their region’s Inclusionary Practices Coordinator. Participants should already have a broad understanding of what Universal Design for Learning is and why they would like to implement it in their classroom.
