Description
Join us for this class to learn how to help students create their own weather station. This one-day class will demystify coding and basic electronics, help you empower students to build their own technical tools, and teach basics of data analysis for climate science. Each teacher will receive a micro:bit and a SparkFun micro:climate kit to use with students. We'll spend our day assembling the kit, coding it to collect weather data, and discussing the basics of integrating this project into your curriculum. We’ll address connections to NGSS standards for science and engineering as well as Washington State computer science standards.
This class is appropriate for upper elementary through high school teachers who teach weather and climate as part of their curriculum.
