Residential Summer Institute, June 26-29, 2017
As a partner of Washington State GEAR UP, the University of Washington's GEAR UP Educator Development Initiative (EDI) is offering an institute, Locally-Grown: College-Going Culture in Rural Washington. Program is limited to middle and high school educators that are part of the Washington State GEAR UP grant (WSAC).
THE INSTITUTE WILL EXPLORE:
Innovative classroom curricula to support college & career planning
Best practices for family-school partnerships
Strategies to partner with local businesses & programs
Avenues to increase rigor in the classroom and in school offerings
Creative approaches to providing academic supports for students
Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACES) and Protective Factors in Rural Communities
Culturally responsive approaches for school engagement and college planning
Ideas for partnering with colleges for geographically isolated communities

You are registering for clock hours only!
In order to receive clock hours:
- Participants must sign the attendance sign-in sheet EACH assigned day of the session. The attendee must sign in to receive credit for attending the session. Capital Region ESD 113 will not accept verbal or written documentation (other than official sign-in sheets) from the instructor, school district or other entity stating the attendee was present after the session has taken place.
- Participants must be in actual (physical) attendance at the session location at the assigned time and for the duration of the class.
After the event– the event sponsor will send documentation of attendance to Capital Region ESD 113 within 10 business days.
Capital Region ESD 113 will record attendance within 10 business days after receiving documentation.
Participants will receive an automated email requesting an evaluation be completed. Participants will then be able to purchase clock hours and print an Official Proof of Clock Hour form for their records.
