LEGOs and Metaphorical Thinking

LEGOs and Metaphorical Thinking

Fri, January 19 2024 12:30 PM - 3:30 PM

Presenters

  • Jen Flo
  • Hilary Prince

Description

Metaphorical thinking, rich in emotions and imagery allows us to understand and explain complex and abstract concepts by relating them to familiar models. With metaphors, we build lateral thinking skills, see from new perspectives, and innovate creative solutions.

LEGO bricks are a versatile tool, promoting hands-on learning, creativity, problem-solving, collaboration, and can cover a wide range of educational subjects (and ages!).

Join us in creative play through activities designed to engage students in thoughtful discussions, design thinking, and make student thinking visible.

Particpants will leave with a collection of ideas to take back to their classrooms.

* LEGOs provided for use during the session.  Limited to 45 seats.
