Description
Description:
UKERU and CPI are now offered in a one day combined class (or two evenings if school has already started)!
If this is your first time being certified in CPI with Longview Public Schools – Please carefully read the information below.
CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) Nonviolent Crisis Prevention Training gives you the skills to build an effective culture of safety. The training is a safe, non-harmful behavior management system designed to help professionals in any setting provide the best possible Care, Welfare, Safety, and Security of individuals presenting a range of crisis behaviors.
The focus of this program is to build the knowledge and skills you need to recognize and manage crisis behaviors you my encounter in your workplace. As you manage these behaviors, you will begin to establish a common philosophy and a culture of safety for your organization.
UKERU – Participants will learn: the “Least Resistance” approach to crisis management. The objectives are to understand that there are other (safer) methods to manage dangerous situations without the use of restraint and seclusion. UKERU wants to add more skills to your toolbox to keep everyone safe, and to create a better understanding of behavior. Like any other techniques we learn in our field, nothing is fail-proof! We must be alert and aware to minimize the risk of injury.
