GLAD Next Gen^™ is three non-consecutive days within a hands-on, learner-centered environment, which can be provided as an introduction to OCDE Project GLAD^® strategies, a refresher, or follow-up for educators. GLAD Next Generation^® focuses on the most salient OCDE Project GLAD^® strategies to groups of educators in an action-research based learning environment. 

This 3 day training is designed to focus on key components of an instructional cycle that moves from comprehensible input to academic discourse and leads to literacy applications. The instructional strategies are intentionally selected to align with the linguistic demands found within the WIDA ELD Framework.  Educators will deepen their knowledge about how language is acquired and they will learn strategies that promote language development. Teachers will also practice using the strategies within their own classroom and share samples of their implementation of the strategies. We will use these samples at the second and third sessions as an opportunity to reflect on the student learning outcomes.
