In these professional learning sessions teachers will develop a rubric to evaluate instructional materials that align with Washington ELA learning standards and emphasize cultural responsiveness and inclusionary practices through Universal Design for Learning. Participants will explore a variety of instructional materials, collaborating with grade-level colleagues to analyze their effectiveness in meeting diverse student needs. Teachers will learn about materials to pilot in their classrooms, analyze student work, and plan for enhanced student learning. The sessions will conclude with collaborative decision-making to select the materials that best support student success.
